Urban Regeneration

Regeneration Project

As part of a national initiative to refurbish existing housing stock to reflect today’s new homes standards, Roselodge are conducting an initial pilot scheme in the Midlands to improve the standard and sustainability of existing private sector housing in areas where the housing market is of significant risk of failing.

This project is one of nine housing market renewal Regeneration Project whose aim is to work with the ODPM and a wide range of public and private sector partners to bring about the changes required to transform the often failing house market in these areas and to create sustainable communities.

Roselodge applied for, and was successful in achieving grant funding to purchase run down housing stock (which may also have been previously used as poor quality rented accommodation) and to refurbish them to high modern standards which both meet the aspirational housing needs of the community, but also ensure long term sustainability.

It is anticipated that once this concept is ‘rolled out’ on a larger scale, it will create a both significant and cost effective impact in raising housing standards, and stem the flow of more affluent families towards areas currently offering more housing choice.

Working in partnership with the Regeneration Project and their agents, Roselodge incorporate sustainable development principles into all property refurbishments including seeking the maximum possible compliance with ecco homes requirements. A show home is being set up as a show case of what can be achieved from this type of investment.

Our aim is to work with the Regeneration Project, over the next 15 years, to assist and support their aim to create diverse and attractive communities where people both want to live and work.
