HISTORY

Midland Bank commissioned Sir Edwin Lutyens to design a number of centrepiece projects in the City of London between 1921 and 1939. A close relationship was formed between Lutyens and the Bank owning to the Bank’s chairman, Reginald McKenna’s (1919-1943) close personal friendship with Lutyens.

This secured a unique series of Lutyens buildings foe Midland Bank.
